General
StatusFox is an uptime monitoring service that uses multi-region verification to eliminate false positive alerts. Instead of alerting on a single failed check, it confirms outages from 3 independent regions before notifying you.
When a check fails in one region, StatusFox immediately re-checks from 2 additional regions. An alert fires only when all 3 regions confirm the target is down. This eliminates false positives caused by regional network issues, CDN routing, or transient DNS problems.
HTTP/HTTPS endpoint monitoring, API monitoring with custom headers and request bodies, keyword monitoring (verify specific content appears or does not appear on a page), and SSL certificate expiry monitoring.
Check intervals range from 30 seconds to 10 minutes depending on your plan. Free tier checks every 3 minutes; paid plans offer 30-second intervals.
StatusFox runs checks from 3 geographically distributed regions: US East, EU West, and Asia Pacific. All three must confirm a failure before an alert is sent.
Free accounts include up to 5 monitors. Paid plans start at 50 monitors and scale to 500+. There is no hard cap on enterprise plans.
Technical
Slack, Discord, PagerDuty, OpsGenie, email, SMS, webhooks, and a REST API. You can configure multiple channels per monitor and set different escalation rules for each.
Create an account, click "Add Monitor", enter the URL or endpoint, choose a check interval, and select your notification channels. The first check runs within 30 seconds of creation.
Yes. You can configure custom HTTP headers (including Authorization), request bodies, and expected response status codes. StatusFox sends exactly the request you configure.
StatusFox checks SSL certificate validity on every HTTPS request. You receive a warning when your certificate is within 14 days of expiring, with a critical alert at 7 days.
You can create maintenance windows that suppress alerts for specific monitors during planned downtime. Checks continue running, but no notifications are sent. The maintenance window is reflected in your uptime statistics.
The REST API supports creating, updating, pausing, and deleting monitors programmatically. Use it in deployment scripts to pause monitoring during deploys and resume after health checks pass.
